Participatory Choral Evensong, St Bartholomew's church, Otford
If enough people are interested, we might eat locally before the meeting. Sadly, the Five Bells (Peter Warlock's pub!) does not serve food, but there is the Malt Shovel, almost exactly opposite the turning for Lullingstone.
1.00 at St Botolph, Lullingstone (DA4 0JA) for talk about the church, organ demo and a short while for members to play. The organ is a very small but sweet-sounding Harrison, originally from 1879, with 5 stops, straight flat pedalboard, restored by Martin Cross in 1995. The church is within the grounds of Lullingstone Castle, in an idyllic setting.
2.30 at St Bartholomew's, Otford (TN14 5PD), starting with organ demo (2 manuals & pedal, Spurden Rutt of 1913) and a short while for members to play.
3.00 choir rehearsal, with members of St Bartholomew's choir and KCOA members
4.00 tea
5.00 evensong, which should be over by about 5.45.
When sending out the request for bookings, we will be asking for details of whether you would like to sing, or to play for part of the service. The cost, including tea, will be £8 per head.
