An Improvisation Class led by Gerard Brooks at St Leonards Hythe on Saturday the 1st February 2025 at 2.30 p.m.

Our next event will be an Improvisation Class led by our member Gerard Brooks at St Leonard's, Hythe (CT21 5DN) on Saturday 1st February 2025 at 2.30 p.m. Gerard is a specialist in the area, having been involved in classes for the RCO and tutored students at the RAM in London.

This will be an opportunity to explore and develop your existing musical skills through simple improvisation techniques. The intention is for Gerard to lead a workshop lasting for perhaps an hour, with those members who want to do so participating in this, followed during and after tea by other members being able to have a go if they want to, using his material or ideas, with Gerard on hand after tea to comment.

The organ at St Leonard's is a 3-manual Harrison, with a 2-manual Chancel division. See https://npor.org.uk/survey/N13073

If you would like to attend, please let Kevin Grafton secretary@kcoa.org.uk have your booking as soon as possible, and by Saturday 25th January at the latest, to ensure availability of tea.

When booking, please specify whether you would like to:

1) take part in the class in the first part of the afternoon or

2) you would prefer to 'have a go' after the initial workshop, or

3) you would just like to spectate.

The charge made on the day, to cover tea and all costs of the class, will be £15 as previously publicised.

13 members expressed interest in this event when first publicised, and there will not be room for many more, so please confirm your booking as soon as possible (including those who previously expressed interest, please).
